Sign Up for gardening

To sign up for days of gardening, you can navigate to the 'Booking' tab in this group. You can book a time, which will then block it out for others to book. You do not need to book a time to be at the garden; it's just a tool to ensure that the garden has commitments to take care of it. Please use the 'Discussion' tab (this one) to connect with other families.

Juliette Cherry Trees: Yesterday, grade 8 students helped plant two of these trees They will prodcue fruit in a year or two - small sweet/sour cherries that mature mid July, I believe that rounds out the planting... more herbs may be coming.

The water barrel is functional... custodian will keep it filled throughout the summer, so it can be used for bucket watering.

As of today, the planting is 90% completed. We are hoping to plant cherry trees next week; Romeo and Juliette sour charries. I have these at my home, and I am confident they will thrive in our WMS garden - the jam is amazing.

Out of respect for the Indigenous people of Manitoba, we the students, staff, and families of WMS recognize that our school is located in Treaty One territory, on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabe, Ininew and Dakota peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis nation. We are learning about the Treaties that were made on this territory, and about the wrongs that were done to Indigenous people in the past, and that continue today. We are committed to be a community of reconciliation and peace.
