WHAT IS WMS?

WMS is a private Mennonite Christian K-8 school. We provide a strong academic foundation for students through Christ-centred education and a vibrant school community.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

WMS has two campuses, both K-8. The Bedson Campus is in St. James near the west Perimeter. Our Katherine Friesen Campus is in Fort Garry near the University of Manitoba.

HOW MUCH IS TUITION?

Our tuition rates are available on our website.

IS TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE?

WMS offers bus services to and from both campuses. We own and operate all the buses used and pick up students from all areas of the city.

IS THERE ANY TUITION ASSISTANCE?

Yes. One of our goals is to ensure that every child who wants to attend WMS is able to. We offer payment plans for tuition, along with tuition support for families in need.

WHAT ABOUT BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL?

Both campuses offer a Before and After School program. Full-time, part-time, and casual spaces are available for all families in our school.

WHAT KIND OF ACTIVITIES DO YOU RUN?

We are proud of the extra-curricular activities available for all our students. Both campuses have a thriving music program, both during school and through private lessons. Our sports teams, the Eagles, play within their local school divisions. And all our Middle Year students experience multiple enrichment opportunities throughout the year.

HOW CAN PARENTS GET INVOLVED?

As soon as you register, you become a member of our Parent Association. Our P.A. plays a major role in our school, including organizing events, hot lunch programs, raising funds for critical projects, or presenting joys and concerns to our staff.

HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE SCHOOL?

There are many ways to support your community. We have various financial needs, including our Bursary Fund which supports families who would otherwise be unable to attend. There are more specific needs at each campus, contact our Director of Community Relations to see where you can help.

CAN I VOLUNTEER IN SCHOOL?

Of course. Our parents and families are why we exist today. There are many volunteer opportunities, from sitting on the Board of Directors to working with our Parent Association. Contact your local campuses and find out how you can plug in.

 OUR PROGRAMS AND OPPORTUNITIES

Early Learning Christian Centre

Our Bedson campus is home to the Early Learning Christian Centre. This daycare is geared for 2-5 year old children and runs all year. The goal is to provide each child with a solid spiritual and educational foundation that will prepare them for success once they enter school.

Middle Years Enrichment

Our Middle School students are provided unique opportunities to grow and thrive. Through art, drama, digital technology, and outdoor education, students find new passions and develop strong academic foundations.

Bus Services

Transportation to and from school can be a challenge for families. That is why WMS has invested in bus services for both campuses. Students are picked up throughout the city by safe and caring drivers.

Second Step Program

The Second Step Program is aimed at assisting students to make good decisions surrounding issues faced both inside and outside of the classroom. It is designed to seamlessly address common issues and challenges that children face in their everyday lives that can get in the way of learning.

Student Services

Our in-school team of teachers, educational assistants, and administrators provide support for students to help them learn, achieve, and thrive. Our inclusive schools provide a learning environment that is accessible to all students.

Parent Association

Our Parent Association plays an important role at our schools.The P.A. is responsible for fundraisers that directly affect student learning, the school environment, and student safety. Just by enrolling, you become a member of the P.A. and are given an important voice in our community.
